Grammy Joan is back
I am enjoying the time I have had with Grammy Joan tonight, already! It was nice to spend the time with Grandma Fleeta this afternoon as Mom went to pick up Grammy Joan, too.
After having such an eventful day yesterday, it was nice to stay at home and rest today. Mom & Grandma Fleeta took me to the Synagis clinic, which I did not appreciate, but hopefully it will keep me healthy! I weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces yesterday! Then, we stopped by Panera to get a snack before going to Polly’s for the afternoon. Then, Mom and Dad took me to their childbirth class to tell our birth story and show me off. It was nice to see a few people who were having babies soon!
That’s it for now…Jacob.
Naps are good…
Naping with Mom on Saturday afternoon - that is how we spent the whole afternoon! Mom was definitely tired, probably more tired than I was. I certainly enjoyed the time on my tummy, especially with my arms out and about where ever I wanted them. Swaddling is good, but I like to have my arms out.
Today, Mom went to church, came home for a little while, then went back out to the consignment sale to see if she could find a few things for me. She bought me a few toys, and a couple of onesies…you’ll see those later!
I hope everyone had a chance to take a nap this weekend like I did! It’s just about time to eat again, so I better get going.
Today was a busy day!
Well, Mom got me up at 8am, to give me a bath and feed me, because we had a big day planned.
First, we stopped by Starbucks - then, off to Polly’s house. We had to stop by to see her, and to get her lunch! I got to eat when I got there, and then off to another nap.
After that, Mom stopped by the Quilt Store to show me off - somewhere that not too many people would be, not like the Wal-Mart. We had a nice visit with Kathy - she thinks that I am cute, too!
Then, we were off to the house, so I could eat again. Grammy Joan called, and she made her reservation for a return flight when she comes to visit me next Tuesday. She will be here till March 10th! I am certainly excited for her trip, even though she is not happy that she had to buy another ticket, as I will not be traveling home until Kyle and MacKenzie’s wedding! But, I am worth every penny of that airplane ticket!
Well, Dad’s friend just got to the house, so I should probably get going…
Tomorrow, we do not have any plans…I think that Mom is going to get out my activity center, so I can start playing on my tummy on the floor, and on my back! I love to be on my tummy, though!
Later, Jacob.
I’m a big guy!!!
Today’s visit to the doctor was very good…Mom knew I had to be over 6 pounds, but I don’t think she would have guessed that I was 6 pounds and 5 ounces! I should gain about an ounce a day right now…between January 31st and February 19th, I gained 23 ounces - 3 more than expected. I got to quit taking my caffeine, too - unfortunately, I have to stay hooked up to my monitor for 5 more weeks. Hopefully, I will not have any episodes, and will not have to start taking the caffeine again.
Mom and I stopped by her work, so everyone could come outside and see me! They didn’t get too close, just looked through the car window…hopefully, they will be able to see me up close sometime soon!
We can also get out a little bit more, so hopefully I’ll be going to a few places in the near future! No where too big, though. Mom is still worried about me getting sick. My next outing will probably be to get the next Synagis shot - to prevent RSV.
I am going to be working on my breastfeeding skills this week, which should be a struggle between my stubborn self and stubborn mom. Mom has allowed me to get very spoiled by eating from the bottle while she has been pumping all my meals…I’m not used to having to work so hard! I’ll let you know how it goes.
Later, Jacob.
Today’s adventures…
This morning, Mom left me and Dad at home alone to pick up a few things for me at the store.
When she got back, we hung out at home for a few hours before going to Polly’s house. Polly was very excited to see me, and we had a very good visit. We also had visitors to the house. Grandpa Rick and Great-Grandma came to see us - it was Ma’s first time to see me.
I am outgrowing my preemie clothing…when I take a bath tomorrow, Mom said that she will put newborn sized clothing on me…I am so excited to see what that will be like!
More later…
Jacob.
Happy Valentine’s
I had another eventful day yesterday - Valentine’s Day! I had a visitor, my friend Caison and his mom, Andrea. I slept the whole time we were at my house, and then we went to Grandma Fleeta & Grandpa Bill’s house. They wanted to see me before they leave today to go to Miami. They will not be back until the 20th.
When we went to Grandma Fleeta’s, my friend came with, and we met up with his dad, Arlen, as he works with my dad. We had dinner at their house - that was our very exciting Valentine’s Day. I even got to eat at Grandma’s, too!
I would show you pictures, but I thought my dad had taken some on our camera, but they are only on Grandma’s camera…I’ll have to get pictures up sometime later with my friend. For now, you can see my cute Valentine’s pictures in my gallery…
Today, we are going to relax at home…no more outings for now!

My first date
Yes, this is what everyone does on their first date - they sleep! Alyssa was sleeping the whole time I was there, too, until she woke up to eat - that’s when we took the picture.
Mom decided that we needed to get out of the house for a few hours, so we called to see if we could visit Alyssa and her mom, Kristen. We had a gift to bring over, so it was a great reason to get out of the house. I haven’t left here since January 31st, so it was GREAT to be able to go and see someone else and have a change of scenery for a while.
Tomorrow, I will hopefully have another visitor, although I will be staying at home for this one. I’ll write about it tomorrow. I’ve been pretty tired today, I think I am growing…again!
I’ll write more later!
Jacob.
Exciting days at home…
As you can see, I do a lot of sitting around…and, my mom takes a lot of pictures of me. I have been doing a good amount of growing, because all I seem to be doing is eating and sleeping. Although, I like to sleep during the daylight hours, and be awake during the night time. It’s not Mom’s favorite thing, but she does pretty good with my messed up schedule.
And, I really like my chair!!!
I’m getting ready for valentine’s…you’ll love my cute outfit!!!

Grammy Joan is back in MN!
Well, we are left alone, without Grammy Joan in TN. She went back home, as she said, “To my other baby, your Grampa David.” We miss her, but we know she misses us, too!!!
I spent the day with my Gramma Fleeta while Mom and Dad took Grammy to the airport in Atlanta.
When my parents got back home, I got to spend a lot of time awake with them, sitting in my Papasan chair - I love to sit in my chair and have my nuk!
I am getting really good at keeping eye contact with Mom and Dad - and looking at objects - I really enjoy it! I am also eating more with each meal…can’t you all tell???
Hope everyone has a good night,
Jacob
One Month Old!
I have a rough life being with my mom and Grammy Joan all day long…
I am celebrating my one month birthday - Grammy Joan is going to make a ham dinner. I guess I’ll get to eat it later…in the form of milk. Hopefully, I will like it! My mom is going to make some dessert, too…chocolate molten cakes…everyone is excited to have them!
Other events on the schedule for my one month birthday - napping and eating. If my mom would allow, I’d probably skip some of my diaper changes, but she won’t let me!
Grammy Joan thinks we should move to MN, especially since she is leaving tomorrow. We are sad, and will probably cry when I don’t get spoiled all day long, but she’ll be back soon!
She will miss me…and, Grampy David is going to have to allow her to come back, too!
I will write more later…
Jacob
