Photos, people…
Sorry about the technical difficulties in not being able to leave comments. No one ever told my mom…it’s working now, thanks to Uncle Kyle.
Today, Mom & I stayed home from church, because I decided it was the perfect time to take a nap, falling asleep about 30 minutes before church!
So, Mom had fun making lunch & having me in the kitchen after I woke up & finally got “not crabby”…
What else can I show you…after lunch, I decided to take a nap. I just laid right down on the floor & fell asleep…with my blue dog!
And, here’s a couple with me and my Mommy…one because Mom doesn’t look retarded - the other, because I’m smiling so cute!
So, that’s been today…Grandpa - also known as Pinnapapopski - came over. He brought some ice cream sandwiches. Not so good for mom & her lent vows…she did have one!
So, now that you can, leave those comments!
Also, I’ve backtracked & put up some other posts & photos for you to enjoy!
PS - don’t ask…I’m not walking yet…Mom is happy about that!
White mochas…
So, I stopped by to see my friend Liza, who happens to work at a coffee cafe…and, I got a white mocha. It’s pretty much the only thing I ever get when I go to a coffee place, unless it’s Caribou, and I get a Caramel Cooler…
So, all I have to say is, it’s the best white mocha EVER! First of all, it was HOT, unlike Starbucks, who makes theirs luke-warm. Next…the best chocolate taste! I don’t know what kind of chocolate is used, but it’s by far the best…
And, I told her I would post a blog & rave about it…so, here it is! You can check out her blog by clicking the link on the right side of the page!
And, I know I am WAY far behind with photos…I’ll get to it soon! Frankly, I get NO COMMENTS, so I figure NO ONE is looking at the site…leave comments, people!
LENT
So, what will you give up? This year, Shad & I decided to give something up for Lent. Reactions have been interesting…”We don’t do that!” to “Why would you do that?”…
I think generally, in the North, we view Lent as a Catholic time of penance. Most people probably know that Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, which is 46 days before Easter, but we consider Lent to be 40 days. Sundays are not counted as days of penance for Lent. I told this to my mom - she thought that was kinda funny. Then, preceded to tell me that the Catholics abide by it for all the days, even Sundays.
I found interesting that the days of Lent are marked by fasting, both from foods & festivities, and by other act of penance. Three traditional practices to be taken up with renewed vigor during Lent are prayer (justice towards God), fasting (justice towards self) and almsgiving (justice towards neighbor). Lent is a season of sorrowful reflection that is punctuated by breaks in the fast on Sundays (the day of the resurrection).
So, even if you are reading this, and it’s “too late” to give up something, do it anyway…who says you have to be perfect? It will help you focus on your relationship with the Creator of this world.
Just so you all know, we decided to give up going out to eat…this is a challenge, more so for Shad, but still for me. We individually gave up items as well - something that each of us will definitely miss. For me, it’s sweets…yup, you read it right. No desserts for 40 days, and I’m going to try to abide for all 46. For Shad, it’s movies…which is HUGE. So…as Mom said, she’d have a few M&Ms for me, and I appreciate that!
Take care during this Easter Season! ~ Melissa.
